Richard A. Jones Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Richard A. Jones designed the first automated library system at Western Kentucky University
DAYTON, OH, February 2, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Richard A. Jones, Designer of Library Systems for Western Kentucky University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in his career.
Mr. Jones has 39 years of overall professional experience. He designed the first automated library system at Western Kentucky University and traveled to Venezuela to present it to the government and several universities. Inspired by his love of books, he wanted students and the general public to be able to access the library from anywhere.
Additionally, Mr. Jones wrote articles for the Journal of Library Automation, which were translated into 53 languages. He is also the published author of three books on Library Systems. He had earned his Master's Degree in Anthropology from UK 1974, and his Bachelor's Degree in Folklore in 1973, from the University of Kentucky. Mr. Jones had completed 18 hours towards his Ph.D.
Mr. Jones was a noted expert on Thomas Merton's life and writings, accomplished photographer and pilot. He was a disabled veteran and he and his wife Patty Jones would frequently visit VA Hospitals and write to the families of veterans who were unable to write.
