LINCOLN, CA, November 5, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary Kay Beavers, President and Founder of Conceptual Math Media, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication to mathematics education, success as an entrepreneur, and excellence in business management.

In 1971, Ms. Beavers earned a Master's Degree in mathematics from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana. She taught in the mathematics department at City College of San Francisco (CCSF) for 30 years, and while there, she wrote the textbook, Essential Mathematics, that is now in 2nd edition and has been in print for over 20 years. Prior to teaching at CCSF, she taught at various levels in Texas, Illinois, Missouri, and California. In 1996, eight years prior to retiring from her teaching job at CCSF, Ms. Beavers invented the crossword-style math board game EQUATE, and founded the company Conceptual Math Media. In 1998, EQUATE won the awards 10 Best Games and 100 Best Children's Products from Dr. Toy, and in 1999, received Top 100 Games Award from Games Magazine. This recognition from both the educational and gaming arenas helped launch EQUATE into the international market and gave the company the revenue to develop more math games.
