Florida and Maryland Financial Planner Publishes Book on Exchange Traded Funds
Kirk Kinder, CFP contributed a chapter to the recently published book, Exchange Traded Funds: Conceptual and Practical Investment Approaches.

BEL AIR, MD, July 17, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kirk Kinder, CFP contributed a chapter to the recently published book, Exchange Traded Funds: Conceptual and Practical Investment Approaches. The book discusses the use and theory behind Exchange Traded Funds (ETF). The contributors are the leading minds on ETFs. Gus Sauter, the Chief Investment Officer at the Vanguard Group, Rob Arnott, the developer of equally weighted indexes, and David Blitzer, the head of S&Ps index committee are a few of the contributors. ETFs are an investment vehicle that has only been in existence since 1993. Over the past 16 years, ETFs went from one investment choice to 690 currently. The assets in these vehicles reached $430 Billion in 2008.

"The Exchange Traded Fund is the greatest development for the investor since the creation of the index fund in the 1970s," says Kinder. "Even though ETFs have grown to almost $500 billion in assets, they are still relatively unknown to the average investor, especially compared to the $8 Trillion mutual fund asset base." Kinder believes the reason ETFs haven't gained traction with most investors is that ETFs do not pay commissions to broker like mutual funds do.

Kinder contributed a chapter discussing international ETF investment options. He showed why investors should invest internationally and how to decide which ETF vehicles to use. EURNot only do ETFs provide broad diversification in the international arena, they do so at a fraction of the cost of traditional mutual funds,EUR states Kinder. EURThe traditional international mutual fund charges 1.5% annually whereas an international ETF averages 0.25%. This puts more money back in the pockets of investors.EUR

The book was published by Risk Books, a division of Incisive Media. A copy can be purchased at their online site, www.riskbooks.com. The book will also be available shortly at Amazon.com.
