/Books News Articles/ - Yakima, WA, June 29, 2008, Lola E. Neeley, Author, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in writing.
Ms. Neeley began her literary career at the age of 75, after decades of working in real estate and restoring old houses left her feeling restless and in need of an outlet for her creative talents. Seven years down the road, at the age of 82, she has built a second career for herself as an author. Ranging in subject from adventure and mystery to love and sex, Ms. Neeley's novels are described as "feel-good" while also bringing to light a seedy underworld of "sex, blood, guts."
To date, Ms. Neeley has published three books with Author House: "Secrets of Plantation House," the story of a young man who imprisons his grandfather in a secret underground passage for seven years; "Bart's Island," which is about a father who takes his family from Spain to America in the 1930s, bringing nothing but his talent for building houses; and "Those Adventurous Winters," the story of a 16-year-old boy who leaves the family farm to see the world. Ms. Neeley's fourth novel, "Death Thumbs a Ride," a 1940s murder mystery intertwining the lives of four female protagonists, was published by KiwE Publishing under her pen name Chiqui Jae.
Asked about her source of inspiration at this stage in her life, Ms. Neeley shares that her stories simply flow forth from her pen onto paper. Saddled with a trigger finger, she has written all her novels in longhand. Despite this slight handicap, she looks forward to writing more stories, and attributes her success to her self-motivation and dedication, and to the continued support and encouragement of her family.
Ms. Neeley's books are available online at Author House's and KiwE Publishing's respective websites, http://www.authorhouse.com and http://www.kiwepublishing.com as well as from http://www.amazon.com and http://www.emmens.com. They may also be purchased over the telephone at (888) 280-7715 (Author House) and (509) 292-1266 (KiwE Publishing).
