Christian booksellers invited to Spring Book Show tour
Christian booksellers from Georgia and the nation, including church bookstores, are invited to attend this year's Spring Book Show Christian book tour.

/Books News Articles/ - ATLANTA, GA, March 13, 2008 - When Spring Book Show 2008, the nation's largest bargain book show, comes to Atlanta's Georgia World Congress Center on March 28-30, managers and employees of Christian bookstores will be treated to a guided tour of the show floor.

The show, which attracts bargain book vendors from across the country, can be overwhelming. More than 50,000 separate book titles are offered at deeply discounted prices to buyers who come from around the world. The problem for Christian book retailers is to find the dealers who specialize in the genre, which covers both fiction and nonfiction titles in addition to Bibles and related religious specialty items.

To make their search easier, the Christian book retailers have been invited to participate in a guided tour that will make stops at vendors who handle Christian, sometimes called "inspirational," titles. Christian and church bookstores in the metro Atlanta area have been extended personal invitations to attend the Saturday afternoon tour of inspirational product dealers.

The Christian bookseller tour will make stops at:

• Vendors who exclusively sell inspirational product, including Barbour Publishing, Bargain Book Wholesale, Broadman/Holman Publishers, Good Steward Books, Moody Publishing. SAS & Associates, Thomas Nelson, David C. Cook/Honor Books and Wholesale Christian Books, and
• Vendors who sell substantial amounts of inspirational product, including A1 Overstock, American Book Company, Book Depot, Book Sales, Book$mart, Bullseye Calendar, East Tennessee Trade Group, Marketing Resources, S/L Sales, Strictly By-The-Book and World Publications.

"The Christian segment is an important part of the book market," said exhibitor Noel Griese of Anvil Brokers/Anvil Publishers, Inc., of Atlanta. "Only a few of the hundreds of titles I'll have at the show are Christian, but I had a client call looking for product to sell to the bookstores at Catholic monasteries, so I've been contacting the Catholic press to see if they have remainders they'd like to sell into this market."
